Two Concepts of Safety

Passive Safety

Is the capacity of the car's construction to protect passengers, limiting injuries to people in the case of accidents (e.g.: air bag, side impact bars, etc.). It does not require an input from the driver.

Active Safety

Active safety is the interaction of all car components involved in avoiding loss of adhesion or accidents. In this respect the tyre is the key component. Driver input enhances vehicle control.
