Lifegate - Zero Impact®

The launch of the new Pirelli Cinturato P7 between 1st and 9th April 2009 in the Puglia region of Italy has been a Zero Impact® event.

This means that CO2 emissions produced by this event have been offset thanks to the creation of a “Pirelli Forest 2009”, 62,000 sqm of new forests in Costa Rica.

Zero Impact® by LifeGate is the first European project that carries out the intent of the Kyoto Protocol: it reduces CO2 emissions and offsets them by creating new forests.

Pirelli is not new to this type of initiative; in 2008, for the launch of the Cinturato P4 and P6 products, taking advantage of the Zero Impact® initiative, Pirelli committed to the reforestation of 20,000sqm in the Parco del Ticino area.
